The door is awesome but even better is having full use of the sliding glass door where the old panel dog door was. You can measure this from the inside of the upper track to the inside of the lower one. A regular hollow core door is the easiest to install a pet door in and the complexity increases with different designs and materials such as metal solid and panel doors. Place the template in the desired location on the door at least 3 inches above the bottom edge of the door.

If your pet door doesn t include a template use the plastic slide as a template. Pet doors must be installed at least 1 above the tallest part of the dog s back and at least 3 from the floor. Attach to the bottom or middle panel of the pop up pet door nearest the sliding door frame. The new panel features glass on top and a pet door flap at the bottom.

Firstly the height of the track. Cut out the template as instructed. There are 2 measurements that you ll need here. Every door is different so it s important to consider ease of installation when selecting which door you want to install the doggie door in.
