Passenger Side Automatic Door Lock Not Working

Inspect the fuse that protects the door lock circuit to ensure it is not blown.

Replacing the fuse will correct the problem. It does open close when i insert the key in the driver side door. If the lock tries to move then the problem could be a frozen lock mechanism or a faulty solenoid. The door lock doent open close with any switches on the passenger driver switch pad nor does it open with my remote.

If it s not sending a signal the fob will likely have to be replaced. In most cases vaupell says it s the driver s side door actuator that breaks down because it s used the most. A fuse is blown. The solenoid is bad.

An inoperative power door lock can be caused by the switch solenoid wiring problem or mechanical problem within the linkage of the affected door. Replacing it may require removing the car door panel. The only way to lock unlock it is manually push the lock from the inside or use the key from the outside. Have the same problem with my driver side lock i believe i need a new actuator.

Defrost the lock to check an individual lock mechanism work the door lock manually up and down or backwards and forwards in newer vehicles while using the auto lock button at the same time. If one door doesn t work but others do the problem could be a blown fuse. If i insert the key into the passenger side door the lock doesnt open close.

Again if one door doesn t work but others do the problem could be with the door lock solenoid. This is a cheap and easy fix. Shearer adds that in cases where all of the locks fail to work it s likely a sign of a defective switch which triggers all of the actuators or a blown fuse. Chances are your solenoid is burned up or maybe a loose connection.
